Cargo turnover at Riga Port grew by 14.6%
In the first eight months of the year 2011, companies of the Freeport of Riga have serviced in total 2658 commercial vessels. Total cargo turnover is almost 22.6 million tons, which is by 14.6% more than in the first eight months of last year, reports BC press service of the port.

Estonia registers EU’s highest annual inflation in August
In August 2011, the average consumer price level in Latvia increased 4.6% compared to August 2010, which was the second highest in the European Union, the EU statistical office Eurostat reports. Estonia registered the highest annual inflation increase in the EU in August – 5.6%, followed by Latvia, Great Britain – 4.5%, and Lithuania – 4.4%.
